What do the different Claim Status mean?
If your document is in a ‘Pending Review’ status, it has not yet been reviewed at Verus. Once it has, the document status will change to ‘Reviewed’. At that point the claim status will become either ‘Qualified-Pending QC Review’ or ‘Deficient-Pending QC Review’. Either is an indication that the claim has not yet completed the review process. Once it does, the status will change to either ‘Reviewed Deficient’ (generating a Deficiency notice) or ‘Reviewed Qualified’ (moves into the final Quality Control pool, resulting in an offer if no issues are identified in the final QC).
I’ve listed below a brief explanation of the different claims statuses.
New Claims
Claims which have been submitted to the FIFO Processing Queue but have not yet been reviewed are labeled “Pending First Review”.
Deficient Claims
Claims which have been reviewed and deemed deficient are segregated into three distinct claim statuses.
1.Deficient – Pending QC Review
These are claims which were deemed deficient upon the completion of their first review but have not yet had their deficiency notices authorized by a senior reviewer.
2.Reviewed Deficient
These are claims which have had their deficiency notices authorized. We send notices of these deficiencies on a regular basis and await curative responses.
3.Pending Re-Review
These are claims which have had their deficiency notices authorized and to which counsel has responded with curative information/documents which are awaiting review.
Qualified Claims
Claims which have been reviewed and deemed qualified are segregated into two claim statuses:
1.Qualified – Pending QC Review
These are claims which were deemed qualified upon the completion of their first review but have not yet had offers approved by a senior reviewer.
2.Reviewed Qualified
These are claims which have had offers approved. They will remain in “Reviewed Qualified” status until releases are sent out, at which point they will become “Offer Made”.
The attached document gives further details of each claim status.
